The Workshop

width la botte gardiane

Goloks boots are the result of unique artisanal expertise, born from the fusion of Tibetan heritage and the excellence of French craftsmanship. Made in France, at the gateway to the Camargue, in the renowned workshops of La Botte Gardiane, each pair of Goloks boots is meticulously crafted using premium materials, combining tradition, comfort, and durability.

EXCEPTIONAL MATERIALS

Goloks boots are crafted from taupe and olive green leathers, meticulously selected with the utmost care. The Provence sheepskin used for the lining is carefully chosen to provide unparalleled warmth and softness, perfectly suited to the harshest climates. The thick, sturdy soles offer optimal protection against rough terrain while ensuring excellent insulation from the cold.

All materials come from trusted suppliers. The leathers are primarily sourced from France, but some are imported from Italy when their quality is superior or unavailable locally. This pursuit of excellence is combined with an eco-friendly approach: the tanneries working with La Botte Gardiane strictly adhere to European environmental standards, with a strong commitment to sustainable development.

A METICULOUS MANUFACTURING PROCESS

The process begins with sole cutting, carried out using metal die cutters. A 25-ton press cuts the material with precision, ensuring a perfect shape. Next, the various leather pieces are cut following a rigorous inspection of the hides to guarantee their quality.
The stitching stage involves assembling the leather pieces with strong, double-stitched seams to ensure strength and durability. This stitching technique, known as Blake construction, provides lasting waterproofing by securely bonding the inner and outer soles through multiple layers.
The assembly process is performed using two specialized machines: one for shaping the front of the boot and the other for the back, pulling, gluing, and folding the heel and the sides of the upper. This crucial step defines the shape and support of the boots, ensuring a perfect fit for each pair.
Finally, the finishing stage refines the sole, giving it its final appearance. This step is done by hand and requires expert craftsmanship, as it determines the balance and elegance of the boot. Manual adjustments by eye ensure a perfectly smooth finish.
